Styled by Stockroom Vintage: The Strawberry Patch Barn Sale

It's been about six months since I announced that I'm now a styling assistant for Stockroom Vintage— Nashville's first vintage event rental + styling company. It's been a fantastic blur of incredible vintage wonderment and I couldn't have asked for a better boss, friend, kindred spirit, and personal mentor than the amazing Elizabeth.
I can hardly believe it was just this last September when we met up for our "blind date" at a local coffee shop. We immediately hit it off and just days later I was trekking across the state to help style my first event as the newest team member. It's hard to tell from all the gorgeous photos, but there is literally so much blood, sweat, and tears that go into each and every event I've shared with you on this blog.
I've learned so much with Elizabeth's guidance— from ridiculous things like flower and glitter placement up to huge life lessons about starting + running your own business. She's always there to give me advice and encourage my dreams (and to repurpose all my old furniture!).
I really just meant for this post to be a super quick pop in that said "Hey go look at this beautiful thing that Elizabeth did without me" but I just can't stop scrolling through her blog and staring at all the amazing events she has done. She still manages to amaze me even after working with her for the better half of a year!
So thanks to all of you for letting me share this journey here on the blog. And thanks to Elizabeth for being one of the most talented, driven, smart, funny, and strong women I know. (Okay, I know I'm total best friend fan-girling over here but she's changed my life and sorry but I'm not sorry!) I was busy manning the marshmallow booth at the Strawberry Patch sale so I didn't get to help with this styling but you should still pop on over and check it out on the SV blog! Seeya at the Strawberry Patch Barn Sale!

This weekend I will be with Kerfluffles at the Strawberry Patch Barn Sale, a flea market featuring handmade and vintage goods in Hartsville, TN. We are super excited to be there and even made some special marshmallows just for the event— Chocolate Covered Strawberry Duos and Toasted Coconut Dominos! (I'm having a hard time not shoveling them all in my mouth as I dip them in chocolate. . . )


Sometimes I'm really bad at blogging in "real time"— I generally blog about things ages after they've happened (whoops!) but I know a lot of y'all are in the Nashville area so if you happen to be spending the weekend making your rounds to all of Tennessee's flea markets then please be sure to stop by and say hi to us (and Stockroom Vintage, too!).


And if you can't come out then I'm (only a little) sorry for torturing you with these yummy guys! I know it's only Wednesday but does anyone else have exciting weekend plans?! This week and month have been flying by— I can hardly believe it is almost May!

Lavender + Gold: A Rustic Cake for Stockroom Vintage

Don't you just love these dreamy photos that Elizabeth from Stockroom Vintage styled? I was so thrilled when she asked me to create the cake above! Unfortunately, I didn't make it to the shoot because I had other plans (damn you, car shopping!). But sometimes it's nice to take a step back from what you're involved with and enjoy it as a spectator. I mean, I know I'm biased because I'm her styling assistant, but this shoot is just gorgeous!
And do you wanna know a secret? That cake I made? It isn't even real! I mean, it's real in the sense that I made it with my hands and it exists. . . But you totally can't eat it. Well, unless you like the classic taste of styrofoam topped with royal icing— which is all it is.
I'm sorry. . . Did I disappoint you? Is all the magic gone? I hope not. . . It's just that I'm a busy gal and I knew that I could either spend 45 minutes making a cake dummy or 3 days making a "real" one, ya know? So I just whipped up this stand-in cake and sent it off with Elizabeth. She topped it with gold ribbon + lavender and the deed was done!
I mean, my motto's always been "Fake it 'til ya make it" so it doesn't really feel "right" sharing this cake I made with you if I'm not even going to share the fun secret behind it! And honestly, it was a lot of fun to make! Heart Shaped Hand Pies: A Sneak Peek

I thought today would be an appropriate moment to share a little glimpse of what I have been up to recently. A few weekends ago I helped style a Valentine's Day mini shoot for Stockroom Vintage. Elizabeth had visions of ombre marshmallows and heart shaped pies floating around in her head and she recruited me to help make them. It was a blast hanging out with her and Alissa Saylor, the wonderful photographer we teamed up with. I've been learning so much in the last few months I've been helping out with Stockroom Vintage— I even styled a table for our first marshmallow event at work and we won best decorated booth! But that's a (very exciting) story for another day.

Today I have a few more hours left at work and then I'm headed home to eat a giant pizza and watch Wayne's World with my partner. I hope your night is quiet and cozy and filled with kitten snuggles— that's what I'm looking forward to today! 

Adventures at the Nashville Flea Market

I recently got to spend the weekend perusing Nashville's monthly flea market with the one and only Elizabeth from Stockroom Vintage. I spent most of my time sourcing books and materials for my bookmaking shop (I can't wait to get it up and running!), chatting with booth owners, and bumping into local bloggers.

That's right— I ran into the always lovely Lisa who blogs over at She Was A Bird and I finally got to meet Rae of Say It A'int So. (I say *finally* because I have been a long time lurker of her blog and she always manages to go to the coolest vintage places— I always leave her pseudo creepy comments about how I want to just follow her around and learn all her vintage treasure secrets!)

ANYWAY— it was a blast and I thought it would be fun to share some fun things I spotted while there.

I just love the sign in this last picture! I couldn't get a very clear picture of it but just know that it's one of my favorite things about our flea market. I found so many goodies that I will have to share them in another post. I think my favorite moment though was bumping into other local bloggers— every single one I've met in Nashville so far has been so super amazing! Do you have a local flea market? Styled by Stockroom Vintage: A Rustic Fall Dinner

How beautiful are these rustic fall harvest dinner photos? I'm blown away each and every time I get to work with Elizabeth for anything Stockroom Vintage related. She is incredibly talented and one of the hardest working small business owners I have the pleasure of knowing. I got to help her style this little setup for NFocus Magazine a few months ago and I am still in love with the way everything turned out. Here's what Elizabeth has to say about her dreamy setup:

"When I designed this autumnal alfresco tablescape, I didn't want it to feel too predictable— no orange, no gourds or pumpkins. Instead, I wanted to give Nfocus readers a way to elevate traditional fall decor with plenty of handmade touches and an unexpected color palette of jewel tones, amber, and gold."

Merry & Bright: A Holiday Mini-Shoot with Stockroom Vintage

I'm so excited to share these snapshots I took at the holiday photo shoot I helped style for Stockroom Vintage. Each time I get to help with an event I leave thinking, "That one was definitely my favorite so far!"— which is great because it just means this job is getting better and better with time.

Stockroom Vintage teamed up with Antebellum Photography to create two dreamy sets for a series of holiday photo shoots for clients. We headed out to a christmas tree farm and setup two vignettes amongst the gorgeous trees that included a beautiful settee, vintage ornaments, a hand painted sign, and the perfect little red wagon. If these photos don't put you in the Christmas spirit then I'm not sure what will! 

I'm safe and sound in Pennsylvania and I hope wherever you are that you're cozy and warm + surrounded by people you love. Thanks for letting me share this little bit of cheer with you!

Lookbook: My First Day with Stockroom Vintage

I'm super excited to share these photos from my first day as a styling assistant for Stockroom Vintage! Elizabeth loaded up the truck and we set out for Front Porch Farms— the most beautiful wedding venue I have ever seen. Seriously you guys, when we stepped out of the truck it was like walking into a real life pinterest board. We had a blast setting up two separate seating areas and a glitter bar for the Nashville Wedding Planners Group. I guess you could say it was a successful day: I worked hard, met a ton of talented ladies, and ate a lot of gourmet food. Vintage goodies, wonderful people, and an endless supply of glitter— what more could a gal like me ask for?
